This website is dedicated to the multimedia design services that designer Dean Claydon provides. His wide range of media based skills can be found in his portfolio. Services include; web design, graphic design, branding, photography, video, audio and art.

Currently

Dean has secured a placement with Mediatonic; a company who specialise in Premium Web Games for companies such as Sega, Disney, EA Sports, Lego and Nintendo.

It's been a while since Dean has been in a band but is now playing live and recording with close friends known as Power Down In Four.

Located

You'll find Dean currently living back in his home town of Crays Hill while he is undertaking his placement year.

Interests

The interests Dean has varies from playing golf to writing music. Dean has always envisaged to learn more skills. He enjoys art and design, painting, music, media, photography, football and travelling.

Multimedia

Dean is passionate about multimedia and has been for several years. From being a hobby this has now developed into a profession. He has further honed his skills thanks to two years studying at Brunel, his independent learning and soon to learn how multimedia is communicated in a working environment.

Relevant Design and Web Experience

Most recently, Dean and two team members (Alex Wilkes and Calum Ryan) produced a concept as part of an assignment for Cancer Research UK via design agency Essence. Over 20 groups took part and Dean's group were the winning group. The task was to produce a widget that Cancer Research could potentially generate one million pounds. The idea: Bid for an Experience

Dean has gained his experience from different environments. One of his roles is 'Web Officer' for the Brunel Entrepreneur Society. This position required him to create the Brunel Entrepreneur mini site's skin and to update the content on the mini and main site on a weekly basis. Additional tasks have involved Dean having to create the branding of the society and to distribute this over the promotional material.

In his spare time Dean has completed many freelance projects and has dealt with these clients in a professional manner at all times. Projects include website design, graphic design and audio production.

The first encounter with web-based and marketing developments was during his two week placement Dean benefited from corporate experience gained with HSBC at their Canary Wharf HQ. Working with employees from the intranet and internet departments, his tasks involved researching keyword selection for certain pages on hsbc.co.uk. Another task was to research competitors websites to make recommendations to enhance the functions of particular sections of the website.

Other activities

Dean took part in a HSBC project to regenerate a Special Needs School play area. His role was to design, budget and produce a Mural.

Entered as an Eastern Regional finalist of Young Engineer for Britain 2007 for my product I designed during my A Level.

My artwork featured in the schools annual exhibition.
