Brunel

My second year at Brunel University is coming to an end. The past couple of months have been quite eventful and very busy.

I have many projects to upload but I'm afraid won't have time until after my exams. For now please watch the following film entitled 'Threat' - my final project of the year:

Placement News

In other news I have been lucky to secure my placement with Mediatonic. I'll spend a year designing various exciting projects. Before I start my new job there I'll be undertaking several freelance work and whenever possible create stock audio and photos.

I'm new to stock photo/audio. I use istockphoto.com please feel free to look at my portfolio. I hope to upload more photos very soon.

Competitions

My team (Alex Wilkes, Calum Ryan) won this years widget competition. There were 22 teams, each creating a widget to potentially raise a million for Cancer Research UK. We will be visiting Cancer Research in the next few months to discuss potentially implementing our idea - very exciting stuff!

Music

Finally, I've found a band. Hopefully soon I'll record us soon.

March - Just as busy.

The website has had a major update. The last week I have been working on a php and mysql driven site as well as university projects. Fortunately, most of the work is now done and new projects have been uploaded. As well developing the site further I have added all my recent projects - please have a look. Fortunately (as I like keeping busy), I'm now faced with a very busy March with many new projects. Over the next two weeks I'll be filming in Reading, editing Made In Brunel documentary, producing a Cancer Research and Essence Widget and creating a library book reserve system. Potentially, I have a busy April too - what with exams the following month. Additionally, I might pick up some new projects for a plumbing company and a food organisation. Looks like I'll have a busy few months. Check this space for added work.

This Months Work - February

I am undertaking several projects this month. He is an outlook of individual projects.

Inn-Print - Since the re-branding of Inn-Print the company now requires a website design. The end template will be used with the existing backend.

Lizzie Lois - Since photographer 'Lizzie Lois' won the Nikon Award, the redesign of her site is under way. A simplistic design will complement her photos and site content to be heavily reduced. The end template will embed blogger into her site and a custom made CMS will control the photographs and albums.

Don't Fret - My latest project at Brunel. The brief; to create a piece of interactive multimedia that lets users 'play' with a concept; based on an academic topic. I have chosen to develop a Flash and ActionScript based on the topic of guitar chords. At the moment I have developed the interface and have started experimenting with ActionScript to achieve the outcome that I desire.

DJ Neil Claydon - My brother is releasing his first EP entitled 'Indigo'. As you may have noticed on the homepage I have recently designed his MySpace. Keeping to the same theme I designed the EP cover. If you have the time please feel free to check out his MySpace.

Website Updates

The website has various new updates. The majority of the changes are accountable on the homepage which now features my recent work in a new presentation area. In addition the creation of the blog was introduced for a bit of fun.

The updates are not just cosmetic based, most of my recent projects are now up on the site. Including creating the branding for the software company Inn-Print. Furthermore I have uploaded my latest assignment which is a Flash based interactive narrative on Congestion Charging.

Hopefully by the end of the month the site will be completely updated. I am planning to convert the current site to a PHP and MySQL based.

Also this month I will be completing several new projects. I am in the process of creating a website template for Inn-Print. Additionally I am creating a Flash based artefact that consists of a database of guitar chords. The functionity of this assignment will include playback and interactive diagrams.
